Today I want to talk about cleaning! Specifically, I want to share with all of you, my fellow homemakers, my top 10 favourite cleaning tools for a sparkling home! I use these tools every week in my cleaning routine and truly do love each one.

1. Bissell Cleaner
This is something I wish I would have bought way sooner, because it would have saved me so much time scrubbing at stains! The Bissell takes stains right out, even if they have been sitting for a while. With Clara and our dog Cooper we have had a lot of “oh uh” moments on our carpets and furniture, and this takes all the stress away from those moments. From spilled bottles to Cooper getting sick on our carpet I have been able to get it all out! Even an oil stain that I have had on my fabric couch for months!
2. Reusable Dusting Mitt
I love using reusable products when I can! Not only are they less wasteful, but they save us money too! Using a dusting mitt is so simple and picks up all the dust I need in every little corner. Plus it’s easy to clean once you are done, all you need to do is throw it in the wash.
3. Silicone Toilet Brush
I have had my eye on a silicone toilet brush since I first learned about them! The classic toilet brush tends to get disgusting fast especially if you live in a high humidity place, but the silicone brush never gets yucky! I bought mine through a friends business, but I found this one on amazon that is very similar and the reviews are really good!
4. Castile Soap
I use castile soap for so many different things because it is gentle on my sensitive skin. For example, I usually make our own laundry soap with it, unless I am in a busier season like my first trimester or postpartum then I will buy this laundry soap. Another thing I make with it is an oven cleaning paste with essential oils and baking soda. I use whatever brand that is in stock and have found no difference between brands.
5. Silicone Gloves
After using rubber gloves for a couple of years I started to develop a rash. I’m still not sure if it was the gloves or a new tea I was drinking, but I stopped both just in case and switched to silicone gloves. I love wearing gloves when I clean because it protects my hands from drying out and it protects my nails from getting chipped. Plus it makes me more fearless when it comes to the not so fun places to clean.
6. Bissell Vacuum Cleaner
This is the BEST vacuum you can buy if you have a dog who sheds! Cooper sheds SO much that I have to vacuum once a day or else it begins to make our home look disgusting. Since getting him we have had 2 vacuums die despite regular maintenance. They just could not handle the amount of hair and vacuuming that needed to be done. This vacuum does have a cord, but it honestly isn’t very different from my past cord free one. The cord is very long so I can cover the main area without having to replug it!
7. Cleaning Caddy
Andrew bought me my cleaning caddy last year when he saw I was struggling with making multiple trips for my cleaning supplies with Clara on my hip. It has made it so much easier because I can fill it with all the supplies I will need for the room I am in so I am only making one trip. Plus I can safely carry everything and still have Clara in one arm.
8. Fabric Shaver
I use my fabric shaver mainly to keep my clothing looking neat, but it does come in handy for household items too. I find knit blankets, pillows, and sheets tend to pill more easily after washing and once they pill they look messy. You will be surprised the difference shaving the pills off makes!
9. Euroscrubby
This is the best scrubby not only for food stuck on dishes, but also for cleaning the oven and the shower. They are gentle enough that they do not scratch and they get the job done without scrubbing + soaking for hours.
10. Robot Vacuum
Now this is a splurge and is something that we saved up for in our budget when we realized there was no way I could keep up with morning sickness with baby #2 and carry our vacuum upstairs with our toddler. I keep our robot vacuum upstairs because we do not have dog hair to worry about since Cooper is only allowed on the main floor. It has made my life so much easier and Clara loves watching it! Plus I love that it empties itself into a larger container so I do not have to worry about emptying it each time!

I’m curious to know more about the silicon toilet brush. Does the top come off for better cleaning? Why is the regular one more disgusting than the silicon one?
I’m constantly changing out our toilet brushes so am pretty intrigued about the one you mention.

So the first amazing thing about the silicone toilet brush is you do not have to change it out, because it does not wear the same as the traditional and it is also more difficult for mold to grow on because it dries quickly, but also is easily washed. I’ve personally never had issues with mold and have had mine for 2 years so far and it hasn’t worn at all! I actually moved across the country with mine because I love it so much! To clean all you do is after cleaning the toilet I rinse mine with a little extra soap in the clean toilet bowl then flush. I hope this helps! If you have any more questions let me know!!
